Reception on Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between the Independent State of Samoa and the People’s Republic of China / Samoa Embassy Beijing / By Gabrielle Ambassador Luamanuvae Albert Mariner and Mr. Cai Wei, Member of the CPC Committee of MFA and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, led the formalities at the diplomatic reception held on 4 December 2025, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary since the establishment of formal Diplomatic Relations between the Independent State of Samoa and the People’s Republic of China. Ambassador Mariner highlighted the importance of the bilateral relationship between the two countries, that was set up on a foundation of shared aspirations and mutual respect for each other’s sovereignty and development priorities.
